Scorpe Firefighting & Rescue

The Power of Positive Pressure Ventilation

PPV is rapidly becoming a more accepted fire fighting technique. The introduction of cool, clean air into a burning building seems counter intuitive, but it has been proven to speed extinguishing time, reduce water damage and to decrease risk of flashover or backdraught.

Scorpe fans all work by the turbo ventilation method. PPV depends on increasing the pressure in the building as quickly as possible. This can only be done with directed airflow at a high speed.

Our fan have turbine blades which produce a high-speed and directed flow. Each blade is produced from plastic- strengthened fibre glass thereby meaning that any damage to the blades causes the blade to shred rather than shatter. In short, this makes our fans safer in use.

Vimpex are delighted to bring to the market six fans by Scorpe, three petrol-powered, two electric and one ATEX-approved fan for hazardous areas.

MACH 38 (38,000 m3/h), MACH 45 (45,000 m3/h) and
MACH 62 (62,000 m3/h) Petrol-Powered PPV Fans

For their size, these PPV fans are the most powerful machines available. The very compact design makes these blowers easy to stow and very portable.

They feature a large protective shroud which prevents damage to the super-tough blades and aids airflow.

Powered by the extremely reliable Briggs & Stratton petrol engine, the machines have a damage limitation feature which cuts the engine should it be low on oil.

  • Most powerful machines for their size
  • Very portable and easily stowed
  • Blades will shred, not fracture if damaged
  • Large protective shroud
  • Briggs and Stratton engine cuts out when low on oil

EVS 33 (33,000 m3/h) and EVS 42 (42,000 m3/h)
Electric PPV Fans

Electrically powered PPV fans can be a great advantage if a fan is required inside a building to pressurise a particular room rather than an entire building. With no fumes of exhaust gases, an electric fan will not worsen the environment that you are trying to improve.

The EVS fans have the composite turbo-impellers directly flanged to the drive shaft of the electric motors meaning maintenance costs are greatly reduced.

Two fans make up the EVS range; the 33,000 (m3/h) model and the 42,000 (m3/h) version.

  • Electric power means no exhaust fumes
  • Can be used inside the building
  • Powder coated steel shroud and body resist corrosion

TEX 45 - ATEX Electric PPV Fan
