Electronic Fence Detection

Gallagher Security Management Systems is a global leader in perimeter security fencing. Over 60 years of experience in researching and developing the world's leading power fence systems has enabled Gallagher Security Management Systems to develop a total solution for organisations' perimeter security problems.

PowerFence™ solutions are founded on two core principles for perimeter protection:

Deterrence - deter anyone from attempting to break in or out.

Detection
- detect attempts to breach the perimeter, PowerFence™ systems have been installed in thousands of sites worldwide. The reliability of these systems has been proven, time and again, in a vast array of applications. PowerFence™ systems provide a safe, non-lethal shock. The voltage on the fence is a high energy pulse delivered at 1.2 second intervals. Each pulse is typically 6-8 kV and lasts 300 ps (microseconds).

Applications include:

  • Truck storage
  • Car yards and storage
  • Warehouse and distribution centres
  • Manufacturing sites
  • Self storage sites
  • Retail sites
  • Residential estates
  • Telecomunications sites
  • Gas, Water & Electricity utilities sites
  • Petrochemical sites
  • Airports & Harbours

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Is the system safe?
Yes, the energiser components aremanufactured and installed to the IEC 60335-2-76 standard, and our own Code of Practice which exceeds installation codes of practice currently existing around the world.

What are Gallagher Code of Practice and Minimum Quality Standards?

The Gallagher standards meet and exceed the requirements of all national and international standards regarding safety and the application of electric fence systems.

Is the system legal?

In addition, the system is available from Accredited Dealers, who exercise "Duty of Care" when considering the design, installation and maintenance of PowerFence™ systems in accordance with the Gallagher Code of Practice and Minimum Installation Standards.

No. Unlike other perimeter systems, PowerFence™ technology ignores these forms of interference.

Is the PowerFence™ system zoned for alarm management and response?

Yes. Standard PowerFence™ systems have 1 to 48 zones for alarm management and monitoring purposes. These zones can be configured to meet with exact site requirements, i.e. programmable delayed zones for exit/entry/entry routes, gagtes etc and instant zones for standard perimeter protection.

Are PowerFence™ systems compatible with other security systems and equipment?

Yes. PowerFence™ systems, in their standard form, can be installed as stand alone systems or directly interfaced with any other type of intruder alarm, access ocontrol or integrated security system. This applies to functions including arming and disarming zones, alarm monitoring and signalling.

Do insurers accept or specify PowerFence™ systems?

Yes. Most major insurance companies accept the installation of PowerFence™ systems and sme are now specifying PowerFence™ for the protection of appropriate sites. As a direct result of PowerFence™ systems preventing crime and losses on various sites, some site owners have been able to obtain insurance on previously uninsurable sites or reduce their premiums over time.
